There are different levels of readiness of engineering graduates from various parts of the world. One of the main themes of this series is how to reduce the readiness gap around the world. The special focus is given to Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering including Engineering Management. Are the engineering graduates ready to take on the challenges of the current global economy? IEOM has more than 130 student chapters and 40 professional chapters around the world. IEOM has successfully organized global engineering education in Bali (2014), Dubai (2015), Orlando (2015), Kuala Lumpur (2016), Detroit (2016), Dhaka (2019), Rabat (2017), Bristol, UK (2017), Bogota (2017), Bandung (2018), Bangkok (2019), Pilsen (2019), Toronto (2019), Riyadh (2019), Dubai (2020), Detroit (2020) and Harare (2020). With the great success of Global Engineering Education Series of past IEOM conferences, IEOM 2021 Brazil Conference will have a dedicated session for the Global Engineering Education where distinguished speakers will discuss the readiness of engineering graduates for workforce around the world. Peace Engineering works directly towards a world where prosperity, sustainability, social equity, entrepreneurship, transparency, community voice and engagement, ethics and a culture of quality thrive. Engineers have the power to play a vital role in the creative solutions that can radically transform and improve the wellbeing of people and other living systems, day to day. We want a new mindset for all existing disciplines, not only engineering, and new ones we have to create to address the global challenges.

3:45 – 4:15 (Thursday, April 8) – Room 2

Dr. Jesus Francisco Vargas Bonilla
Dean, School of Engineering
University of Antioquia
Medellín, Colombia

4:15 – 5:00 (Thursday, April 8) – Room 2

Dr. David E.
