Capstone student design project team can showcase their engineering design project by submitting a summary of the project as an abstract and present it. It should highlight problem solving, creative thinking, innovation, project planning, and teamwork through a challenging design and build project. Each submission must be presented i at the at the Sixth International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations management to be held at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur Hotel on March 8, 2016. The poster presentation will be judged based on the technical content and poster presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the 2016 IEOM Annual conference award banquet on March 9, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The submitter must be student or recent graduate and be part of the senior design project team.<\/li>\n<li>A summary of the senior design project must be prepared by the student(s) with only minor outside editorial assistance. One or more advisors may appear as co-authors, but the student must be the \u2018first author\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>The design project must be presented at the 2016 IEOM Annual Conference at JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur on March 8, 2016.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important Dates<br \/>\n<\/strong>Deadline for submission: October 31, 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paper Guidelines<\/strong><br \/>\nAuthors must follow the 2016 IEOM Conference abstract guidelines and prepare a power point presentation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submission<\/strong><br \/>\nSubmit an abstract online: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xcdsystem.com\/IEOM\/abstract\/index.cfm?ID=2ntobg6\">https:\/\/www.xcdsystem.com\/IEOM\/abstract\/index.cfm?ID=2ntobg6<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It can be submitted in electronic format (PDF file) to the design competition committee chair, Dr. Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, University of Sharjah, UAE (<a href=\"mailto:mshamsuzzaman@sharjah.ac.ae\">mshamsuzzaman@sharjah.ac.ae<\/a>) no later than October 31, 2015. The participant(s) need to bring a poster to present in the IEOM poster session on March 8, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Judging<\/strong><br \/>\nA group of academics \/ professionals will serve as judges and evaluate the papers and presentations.
