{"id":136,"date":"2017-10-05T15:26:09","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T15:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ieomsociety.org\/paris2018\/?page_id=136"},"modified":"2018-02-14T11:27:04","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T11:27:05","slug":"senior-design-competition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/ieomsociety.org\/paris2018\/senior-design-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior Design Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>IEOM Capstone Senior Design Project Poster Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The IEOM Capstone Student Design Project \/ Final Year Project (FYP) Presentation Competition<\/strong> will recognize outstanding design project in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, engineering management and operations management prepared by student team. Capstone student design project team can showcase their engineering design project by submitting a summary of the project as an abstract and present it. It should highlight problem solving, creative thinking, innovation, project planning, and teamwork through a challenging design and build project. Each submission must be presented at the at the IEOM Paris Conference. The poster presentation will be judged based on the technical content and poster presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the 2018 IEOM Paris Conference Award Banquet.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The submitter must be student or recent graduate and be part of the senior design project team.<\/li>\n<li>A summary of the senior design project must be prepared by the student(s) with only minor outside editorial assistance. One or more advisors may appear as co-authors, but the student must be the \u2018first author\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>The design project must be presented at the IEOM Paris Conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Important Dates<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>Paper submission deadline: 15 February 2018 (Extended)<br \/>\nNotification of acceptance: 15 March 2018<br \/>\nCamera-ready paper submission deadline: 15 April 2018<br \/>\nRegistration deadline: 1 May 2018<br \/>\nConference: 26-27 July 2018<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nAuthors must follow the 2018 IEOM Poster guidelines. IEOM poster size is\u00a0 36\u2033 x 24\u2033 (36 inches high by\u00a0 24 inches wide) or larger. Students are encourage to bring a poster board.<\/p>\n<p>Team can submit an abstract\/poster and bring a poster at the conference event.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Submission<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nSubmit an abstract online:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.xcdsystem.com\/IEOM\/abstract\/index.cfm?ID=JxqPV50\"> https:\/\/www.xcdsystem.com\/IEOM\/abstract\/index.cfm?ID=JxqPV50<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Judging<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nA group of academics \/ professionals will serve as judges and evaluate the papers and presentations.
