      Presentation Title: Understanding Supplier PPAP- How to increase the awareness of risk posed by supplier PPAP approval in your manufacturing system<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

      Jeremy is a professional Speaker, Trainer, Author and Leadership Consultant who focuses on the business and financial case for leadership and creativity in systems-based thinking. With a focus on various industry standards, technical topics and leadership, he specializes in plant and operations, risk based thinking and executive development. Jeremy received his B.S. with dual specialization in Organizational Management and Corporate Finance, and further expanded his career with an MBA with a focus in Quality Management where he did his master\u2019s thesis on blending Six Sigma for service with Systems Management. Additionally, he has held numerous ASQ certifications and authored various books relating to the application of systems and tools in the manufacturing space.<\/p>\n

      Abstract<\/p>\n

      One of the most important and daunting tasks in launching a new product is the approval of the supplier\u2019s PPAP by the organization. Unfortunately, all too often there is only one question that gets asked \u201cis it done?\u201d,<\/strong> but the real question should be \u201cis it good?<\/strong>\u201d.<\/strong> A supplier\u2019s PPAP submission is a crystal ball into the future performance of the product in your program, and a window into the potential supplier\u2019s risk to your facility, but you must know how to read it \u2026 you must learn to look at it differently.<\/p>\n

      In this seminar we are going to be putting on a new set of lenses, and looking at what a supplier PPAP is telling you about the risk that the supplier poses to your program success, and we are going to teach those reviewing these PPAP submissions how to make associations that answer the questions of management with the intention to predict and prevent supplier issues at their facilities. This is accomplished by understanding the unrelated areas of the PPAP submission and questioning the artifacts provided with a new sense of curiosity, a new context based on impact to the organizational performance, not just a check the box mentality against organizational requirements.<\/p>\n

      Steve Sibrel is a business process improvement trainer, coach and auditor with over 35 years of experience in the business and manufacturing world. He is currently working as Senior Supplier Quality Manager at Harman International, a manufacturer of audio and infotainment systems for consumer, professional, and automotive industries, with well-known brands such as JBL, Lexicon, Crown, Infinity, Mark Levinson, Becker and Harman-Kardon. Previously he held a number of engineering and management positions in diverse industries at Applied Materials (Semiconductor), NEC (Telecommunications) and Texas Instruments (Military). He has conducted over 200 supplier audits in North America, Europe, and Asia and is a Lead Auditor for ISO\/TS16949, ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO17025, and 21CFR820. He has been the Chair for Professional Development for the ASQ Detroit section since 2008. He received the Distinguished Service Award in 2008 and the Leadership Award in 2013 from ASQ.\u00a0 Current ASQ Certifications held are Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, Quality Auditor, and Manager of Quality\/ Organizational Excellence. He is an adjunct facility member at Macomb Community College.
