Dr. Khairul Azami Sidek is an accomplished Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering with over 20 years of experience in academia. He specializes in in the field of biometric recognition, pattern recognition and biomedical signal processing. Dr. Azami has a strong track record of teaching, research, publications, leadership responsibility, community engagement and successful student mentorship. He has taught more than 15 courses, supervised nearly 20 postgraduate students, published nearly 100 articles in journals and conference proceedings, received research grants totaling up to more than RM500 000, led and organized impactful community empowerment initiatives in the university, ministry and national level. Moreover, he has been recognized with numerous awards in research and publication. He also has been invited speakers and judges in various programs and competition locally and internationally. He has vast experience in leadership roles with the appointment as the Coordinator of ICT in the faculty, Deputy Director and later Director of Office of Industrial Links in IIUM. He is currently the Dean, Kulliyyah of Engineering, IIUM. As the leader, he led the Kulliyyah of Engineering to receive the Best Faculty Award in the university for the year 2024.

Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia

Togar M. Simatupang is Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and a Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. He earned his PhD from Massey University in New Zealand. At the ITB School of Business and Management, he teaches Technology and Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and the Creative Economy. He is recognized as an expert in supply chain management and creative industry development.

He has recently been involved in emerging research on the creative economy in Indonesia, such as the national creative industry mapping, the creative industry roadmap for West Java Province, the creative mapping of Bandung City, and the creative mapping concept for Jakarta Province. He is associated with the Indonesian Logistics Association, the Bandung Creative City Forum, and the British Council in developing creative industries and creative communities.

His research interests include supply chain collaboration, inventory modeling, operations management, service science, and the creative economy. His other research focuses on the development and management of collaborative relationships, such as how to design and manage supply chain collaborations, how to align their risks and rewards, and how to share the benefits of collaboration. His research has been published in various journals, including the International Journal of Logistics Management, Total Quality Management, Management Decision, Journal of Business Process Management, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Benchmarking: An International Journal, and the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management. He has also presented his work at national and international conferences.

He was the recipient of the 2006 Emerald Literati Network Award for a highly commended paper published in the International Journal of Logistics Management. He was also awarded the Australian Government Endeavour Award for postdoctoral studies at the University of Newcastle in 2008.

Dr. Ahad Ali is an associate professor and director of industrial engineering programs (BSIE & MSIE) and director of a graduate certificate in Lean Six Sigma at A. Leon Linton Department of Mechanical, Robotics, and Industrial Engineering of the Lawrence Technological University (LTU), Southfield, Michigan, USA. He established the Siemens Electro-Matic Industrial Engineering Lab at LTU. Dr. Ali was the primary author of the ABET self-study report of the BSIE Program at LTU in 2022. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh, a Master’s in Systems and Engineering Management from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA. Dr. Ali was an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez, a Visiting Assistant Professor in Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Toledo, and a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Khulna. He received an Outstanding Professor Award from the Industrial Engineering Department, University of Puerto Rico -Mayaguez. Dr. Ali has been recognized with a Fulbright Award. He has published 75 journal papers and 150 conference papers. Dr Ali conducted research projects with Chrysler, Ford, DTE Energy, New Center Stamping, Whelan Co., Delphi Automotive System, GE Medical Systems, International Truck and Engine Corporation (ITEC), and Rockwell Automation. His research interests include manufacturing systems, quality, lean, six-sigma, simulation, artificial intelligence, supply chain, and optimization. He supervised 11 doctoral students in Doctor of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems (DEMS). He is a Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IEOM Society International. Dr. Ali is a Co-Chair of the International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. Dr. Ali organized IEOM conferences around the globe on six continents including Dhaka, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, Bali, Dubai, Orlando, Detroit, Rabat, Bristol, Bogota, Paris, Washington, DC, Lima, Johannesburg, Bangkok, Pilsen, Toronto, Costa Rica, Monterrey, Sao Paulo, Riyadh, Manila, Melbourne, New Delhi, Sydney, Augsburg, Tokyo, and Muscat. He is an associate editor of the IJIEOM. Dr. Ali is a member of IEOM, INFORMS, SME, and IEEE.

Harry Kasuma (Kiwi) Aliwargais chief executive officer and co-owner of UMG Myanmar, one of the country’s leading business conglomerates. Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Mr. Aliwarga graduated from the Institute of Technology of Indonesia (ITI) in 1992 with a degree in industrial engineering and later received a master’s degree in civil engineering at the Asia Institute of Technology in Thailand. Kiwi Aliwarga began his professional career in the business development division at Astra International, one of Indonesia’s largest traded companies, where he worked from 1992 to 1995. He went on to become business development manager at United Tractors–Indonesia (UT) before founding UMG Myanmar in 1998 with his partner MarLar Win. Mr. Aliwarga has set the ambitious goal of making UMG a billion-dollar company by 2020, by relying on three essential pillars: people, leadership, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

Dr. Erry Yulian Triblas Adesta is a Vice Rector for Academic, Research and Innovation and a Professor in Industrial Engineering at Universitas Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. He is also a Chartered Mechanical Engineers registered with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) UK and Engineering Council UK. Prior to joining Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM), he served as a Professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with the highest administrative post as the Dean of Kulliyyah of Engineering.

Experienced academic leader and professor with over three decades of global experience in engineering education, research management, and higher education governance. Passionate about driving academic innovation, international collaboration, and industry-oriented research, particularly in manufacturing systems, engineering management, and sustainable technology.

Fazleena Badurdeen, Ph.D.

Fazleena Badurdeen is the Earl Parker Robinson Chair Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky (UK). She is the Director for the Online Manufacturing Systems Engineering MS program and a core faculty of UK’s Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing, an internationally recognized center of excellence focused on cutting-edge research and technology development for sustainable products, processes and systems. Prof. Badurdeen is recognized for her expertise in sustainable and circular product design, measurement systems for circularity and sustainability evaluation, and modeling and analysis of manufacturing systems and supply chains. She has served as principal investigator (PI)/Co-PI for externally funded research of nearly $18 million and has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers. Prof. Badurdeen is the founding Chair of the International Forum on Sustainable Manufacturing and has served as a Technical Vice President for the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). She is also an Editor for the Resources, Conservation, and Recycling journal and serves on the editorial boards of a number of other journals. Prof. Badurdeen received her PhD in Integrated (Industrial and Mechanical) Engineering and MS in Industrial Engineering, both from Ohio University, USA. She also holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, Sri Lanka and BS in Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Prof. Badurdeen is a Fellow of IISE.

Budi Santosa, PhD is a Professor of Industrial and System Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia, specializing in optimization modeling, metaheuristics, and data mining for industrial applications. With extensive leadership experience, including serving as Rector of Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (2018–2022), he has authored over 25 journal articles and 15 conference papers on combinatorial optimization, supply chains, and machine learning. He has also written multiple books on data mining and business analytics (Python/R) and metaheuristics (Matlab), and regularly leads workshops for industry partners like Toyota Indonesia and Bank of Indonesia.

Dr. Dinora Ishmanova is an esteemed academic leader, researcher, and educator, currently serving as the Acting Rector of Millat Umidi University. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is an Associate Professor with extensive experience in higher education, academic administration, and research.

Dr. Ishmanova is currently pursuing her Doctor of Science (DSc) in Competency of Private Institutions and Development of Private Higher Education Institutions in Uzbekistan, with a focus on quality education and the financial well-being of academic institutions.

Throughout her career, she has held key academic and administrative roles, including Head of Academic Affairs at Millat Umidi University and Lecturer at Cambridge International University (CIU) and Tashkent State University of Economics. She has taught and developed courses in International Business, Digital Marketing, Small Business, Leadership, and Logistics.

Her research focuses on strategic management, investment policies, and higher education development, particularly in the oil and gas sector and private university governance. She has authored numerous academic publications in internationally recognized journals and actively contributed to research projects such as Erasmus+ HiEdTec.

Dr. Ishmanova has participated in ministerial workshops, international conferences, and professional development programs across China, South Korea, Italy, and Russia, including training at the Moscow School of Economics. Fluent in Uzbek, Russian, English, and Turkish, she plays a vital role in advancing Uzbekistan’s higher education landscape through innovation and global collaboration.

Professor Dr. Hirohiko Mori holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Keio University, Japan in the field of Neuropsychology. He is a Full Professor and Researcher of Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence at Tokyo City University, Japan (TCU) since 2003 and is currently the Chairman of the Department of Intelligent Systems at TCU. He is the Chairman of the Human Interface and the Management of Information Thematic Area at the International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction since 2018. He has also succeeded in writing in many international journals focusing on his current expertise and has received the Best Paper award in SIG-HCl in the Information Processing Society, Japan in 2016. He was also a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Toronto in Canada from 1996 -1997.

Dr. Robert de Souza is the Executive Director of the The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific (TLI – Asia Pacific). Robert is a Chartered Engineer and a distinguished writer, speaker, consultant and advisor in the area of supply chain management. Prior to this appointment, effective May 1st 2004, Dr Robert de Souza served as Deputy Executive Director (Industry) and IT Director at TLI – Asia Pacific. Previously, Dr de Souza was Executive Vice President (Asia Pacific) for V3 Systems. His extensive tenure in the industry also includes serving as the Corporate Senior Vice President and Global Chief Knowledge Officer at Viewlocity Inc. and co-founder, Vice Chairman and CEO of SC21 Pte, Ltd., a Singapore-based supply chain software firm. As an educator, Dr de Souza is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and also a Senior Fellow in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the National University of Singapore and has previously served as a professor and in several senior positions in the School of Mechanical and Production Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Dr. de Souza is a member of the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing and the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications. Dr de Souza also serves on the Advisory Panel of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Singapore (CILTS), as a Council Member of the Singapore eSupply Chain Management (eSCM) Council and on the Boards of Directors/Advisors of several IT- based corporations.

Kurbonov Nurbek Nurullo Ugli – Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor at the “Power Supply” Department of Tashkent State Technical University, Uzbekistan.

Biography:

Dr. Kurbonov Nurbek Nurullo Ugli is a Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences (PhD) and an Associate Professor at the “Power Supply” Department of Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU). He earned his PhD in Technical Sciences in January 2024 with a dissertation titled Methods and Algorithms for Assessing the Efficiency of Energy Resource Utilization.

Dr. Kurbonov completed a bachelor’s degree in the “Power Supply” department at TSTU from 2015 to 2018, followed by a master’s degree in “Energy and Automation” at Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University, Russia, in 2020. Professionally, he began his career in 2018 as a first-class technician at “HydroProject.” He worked as an assistant in the “Power Supply” Department of TSTU until August 2024 and was promoted to Associate Professor in September 2024.

In 2022, he expanded his expertise through an internship at Kazan State Technical University, focusing on “Energy and Digital Transformation.” He also completed specialized training in industrial safety at the “KonTechControl STUDY” Center and advanced protection and automation systems at REC “EKRA” in Russia.

Dr. Kurbonov has published over 30 scientific articles, authored two monographs, and holds more than 40 certificates of authorship. His notable contributions include developing automated software for monitoring energy consumption in industrial enterprises and creating educational simulators based on programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Dr. Kurbonov’s innovative approaches make him a prominent figure in the field of energy and power systems management.

Presentation Title: Use of Statistics and Artificial Intelligence in Environmental Research

Dr. Nilo Sampaio is an Associate Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro where he teaches Probability and Statistics in the Undergraduate Engineering courses and also acts as a Permanent Professor in the Master’s and Doctorate in Environmental Engineering. He works with Design of Experiments, Multivariate Statistics, Advanced Statistics and Artificial Intelligence. He graduated BS in Chemical Engineering from the Escola de Engenharia de Lorena EEL-USP (1994), master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Taubaté UNITAU (2005), and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho UNESP (2011).
