Students will form a team, develop a preliminary idea and create prototype. You can submit an abstract, paper or PowerPoint presentation that will tell the story of your product. The following elements of the team idea should be included in your final PowerPoint presentation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"42\" data-end=\"307\">The\u00a0<strong data-start=\"46\" data-end=\"83\">Student Global Design Competition<\/strong>\u00a0offers students a unique opportunity to develop and showcase innovative ideas with commercial potential. Participants will collaborate in teams to conceptualize, design, and prototype a groundbreaking product or solution.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"309\" data-end=\"562\">Teams are required to submit an\u00a0<strong data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"388\">abstract, paper, or PowerPoint presentation<\/strong>\u00a0detailing their design journey, from ideation to prototyping. The final\u00a0<strong data-start=\"461\" data-end=\"488\">PowerPoint presentation<\/strong>\u00a0should comprehensively highlight key aspects of the project, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"1022\">\n<li data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"643\"><strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"593\">Problem Identification:<\/strong>\u00a0Define the challenge your design aims to solve.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"644\" data-end=\"727\"><strong data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"674\">Innovation &amp; Uniqueness:<\/strong>\u00a0Explain what makes your idea novel and marketable.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"728\" data-end=\"816\"><strong data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"763\">Design &amp; Development Process:<\/strong>\u00a0Outline the steps taken from concept to prototype.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"920\"><strong data-start=\"819\" data-end=\"858\">Feasibility &amp; Commercial Potential:<\/strong>\u00a0Assess the scalability and real-world impact of the design.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"1022\"><strong data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"959\">Technical &amp; Engineering Aspects:<\/strong>\u00a0Showcase the core functionalities and design specifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1183\">This competition encourages creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking, preparing students to translate their ideas into real-world solutions.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>How does it work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The BIG Idea<\/li>\n<li>Mission statement<\/li>\n<li>Concept \u2013 The CO-Driver<\/li>\n<li>Patent review<\/li>\n<li>Market Survey<\/li>\n<li>Design<\/li>\n<li>Prototype \u2013 CAD<\/li>\n<li>Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Finance<\/li>\n<li>Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Innovation<\/li>\n<li>Questions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>An example of the IEOM Global Design Competition can be found here<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ieomsociety.org\/sampledesign.pdf\">CLICK HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Get your team or teams registered for the competition<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Submit your preliminary \u201cBig Idea\u201d as the initial submission for your team along via paper, abstract, PPT or poster.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Criteria<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Each team should have 3-4 members<\/li>\n<li>Must present the original idea<\/li>\n<li>Students must be the first author.
