On behalf of the Program Committee and Organizing Committee, we welcome you to the second International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM)in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference aims to provide a forum for academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and recent developments in the field of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. The conference is also expected to foster networking, collaboration and joint effort among the conference participants to advance the theory and practice as well as to identify major trends in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management.

After a peer reviewing process, we have accepted about 200 papers from 40 countries. The proceeding covers many cutting edge research areas of industrial engineering and operations research. All full papers are published in the proceeding after thorough review.

Continuous improvement will be significant focus for the 21st century. This conference is focus on continuous improvement for quality and service. Perhaps the most important example is the current financial crisis, which not only represents extraordinary challenges, but may well represent important opportunities for future industrial growth and new directions.  We have selected academic keynote speaker from Arizona State University, renounced professor, Dr. Ron Askin and industry speaker from Intel-Malaysia, Mr. Ang Toon Yoon. As you can see from the enclosed list of speakers, an outstanding array of presentations is arranged at the conference.

Kuala Lumpur, also known as the 'Garden City of Lights' is a modern metropolis with gleaming skyscrapers, mega shopping malls, pulsating nightlife, heritage buildings, beautifully landscapes gardens and parks, lively Chinatown, modern transportation and home to the Petronas Twin Towers, is the world's tallest twin towers at an astounding height of 1,458 feet. It is also known as KL, home to a very mixed crowd of Malays, Chinese, Indians and Arabs, all contributing towards making this little gem the most colorful and fascinating cities in Asia. Kuala Lumpur is a tourist friendly city with varieties foods and shopping options. You will have a pleasant trip to Kuala Lumpur.
