Global Engineering Education

IEOM Global Engineering Education

Engineering education plays a critical role in preparing the next generation of professionals to address complex global challenges, drive innovation, and support sustainable economic development. However, the readiness of engineering graduates varies significantly across regions, institutions, and disciplines. Rapid technological change, industry transformation, and evolving workforce expectations have further widened the gap between academic preparation and industry needs.

The IEOM Global Engineering Education special sessions address these challenges by providing a global platform for educators, academic leaders, industry experts, and policymakers to examine the preparedness of engineering graduates for today’s and tomorrow’s workforce. A central theme of these sessions is **reducing the global readiness gap** through curriculum modernization, innovative pedagogy, effective assessment, and stronger alignment between academia and industry.

Building on the success of the Global Engineering Education series at previous IEOM conferences, the IEOM conference will feature dedicated sessions focusing on Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Management, and related disciplines. Distinguished speakers from around the world will share best practices, research findings, and practical experiences that highlight challenges, opportunities, and scalable solutions in global engineering education.

These sessions aim to foster dialogue, collaboration, and actionable insights that can enhance teaching and learning outcomes, strengthen accreditation and assessment processes, and better prepare engineering graduates to thrive in a rapidly changing global economy.
