Students can showcase their engineering simulation or design project by submitting a summary of the project as an abstract or paper and present it. Each submission must be presented at the Seventh International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations management to be held at 2026 Milwaukee Conference. The poster presentation will be judged based on the technical content and poster presentation. Winners will receive award certificates.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>IEOM Simulation Competition focuses on the following areas, but not limited to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Discrete-event simulation modeling<\/li>\n<li>Monte Carlo simulation applications<\/li>\n<li>System dynamics simulation<\/li>\n<li>Agent-based modeling and simulation<\/li>\n<li>Digital twin applications<\/li>\n<li>Manufacturing system simulation<\/li>\n<li>Production line balancing using simulation<\/li>\n<li>Facility layout and material flow simulation<\/li>\n<li>Queuing and waiting line analysis<\/li>\n<li>Inventory and warehouse simulation<\/li>\n<li>Supply chain and logistics simulation<\/li>\n<li>Transportation and traffic simulation<\/li>\n<li>Healthcare systems simulation<\/li>\n<li>Service system simulation<\/li>\n<li>Simulation-based scheduling and planning<\/li>\n<li>Capacity planning using simulation<\/li>\n<li>Bottleneck identification and process improvement through simulation<\/li>\n<li>Risk and uncertainty modeling using simulation<\/li>\n<li>Stochastic simulation models<\/li>\n<li>Scenario analysis and what-if modeling<\/li>\n<li>Simulation optimization<\/li>\n<li>Arena, Simio, AnyLogic, FlexSim, and other simulation software applications<\/li>\n<li>Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing simulation<\/li>\n<li>Human-machine interaction simulation<\/li>\n<li>Maintenance and reliability simulation<\/li>\n<li>Energy systems and sustainability simulation<\/li>\n<li>Emergency response and disaster simulation<\/li>\n<li>Project management simulation<\/li>\n<li>Data-driven simulation and digital transformation<\/li>\n<li>Validation and verification of simulation models<\/li>\n<li>Real-world case studies using simulation for decision making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The submitter must be student or recent graduate.<\/li>\n<li>A summary of the simulation or PLM design project must be prepared by the student(s) with only minor outside editorial assistance. One or more advisors may appear as co-authors, but the student must be the \u2018first author\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>The design project must be presented at the conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>IEOM Competition Rubrics<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall content: 1-5 points<\/li>\n<li>Data analysis and results: 1-5 points<\/li>\n<li>Presentation skills: 1-5 points<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the topic \/ confident: 1-5 points<\/li>\n<li>Answering questions: 1-5 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Important Dates<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for submission: May 1, 2026<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Submission Guidelines<\/p>\n<p>Author(s) must follow the IEOM Conference abstract\/paper guidelines.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Submission<\/p>\n<p>Submit an abstract or paper online: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xcdsystem.com\/IEOM\/abstract\/index.cfm?ID=1gz1a0I\">https:\/\/www.xcdsystem.com\/IEOM\/abstract\/index.cfm?ID=1gz1a0I<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Judging<\/p>\n<p>A group of academics \/ professionals will serve as judges and evaluate the papers and presentations. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Winners<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive award certificates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Publication and Indexing \u2013 Proceedings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Papers will be published in the proceedings with DOI at IEOM Index.
