Dr. Ankit Gupta, Ph.D.

Dr. Ankit Gupta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering and Technology at California State University, Los Angeles. His research and teaching interests focus on advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, advanced materials, composite materials, manufacturing processes, and product design and development. His research includes the fabrication, characterization, computational modeling, and analysis of polymer, metal, and composite materials produced through advanced manufacturing technologies.
Dr. Gupta has conducted research on fiber-reinforced additive manufacturing, high-temperature polymers, metal material extrusion, functionally graded materials, and computational modeling of additively manufactured components. His work has been published in journals including the Journal of Manufacturing Processes, International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Composite Structures, Composites Part B, and Journal of Composite Materials, as well as in the Springer Handbook of Additive Manufacturing.
He is also actively engaged in hands-on engineering education, student design projects, and the application of advanced manufacturing technologies. His teaching interests include conventional and advanced manufacturing processes, materials science, mechanics of materials, CAD, product design and development, additive manufacturing, and lean manufacturing.
Dr. Gupta received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kurukshetra University, India.

Dr. Kavianpour has published over 100 research papers and has served as a Program Committee member and Chair for several conferences. He holds a patent in image processing and is the author of a book that has been translated into Farsi. He has worked as a consultant at Qualcomm in San Diego, CA, and was an invited lecturer at ICTP (International Center for Theoretical Physics) under UNESCO/the United Nations. He has also served as a subject-matter expert in several patent disputes. He is a five-time recipient of the Outstanding Professor Award from UCI and previously served as an Associate Professor at Sharif University.
