Title: Agrivoltaics Systems: A Sustainable Pathway for Food, Energy, and Water Security in Bangladesh
Bio: Dr. Shamim Ahamed is an Associate Professor of Controlled Environment Engineering in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of California, Davis. His research focuses on controlled environment agriculture, greenhouse and indoor farming systems, agrivoltaics, energy-efficient climate control, AI-enabled automation, and sustainable food production technologies. His work integrates engineering, data science, and plant systems to develop innovative solutions for resource-efficient agriculture under changing climatic conditions. Dr. Ahamed has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and actively collaborates with academic, industry, and international partners to advance smart and sustainable agricultural systems. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for ASABE journals and has held leadership roles within the ASABE Plants and Animal Systems community. He is an active member of several professional societies, including ASHS, ISHS, ASHRAE, and CSABE.
