Undergraduate Student Paper Competition Sponsored by SIEMENS
The IEOM UNDERGRADUATE Student Paper Competition Sponsored by SIEMENS will recognize outstanding papers in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management and operations management written by student(s). Selected papers will be considered for the competition and must be presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando. The paper will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. A group of academics / professionals will serve as judges. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging. Winners will receive award certificates. These awards are presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.
Graduate Student Paper Competition Sponsored by EATON Corporation
The IEOM GRADUATE Student Paper Competition sponsored by Eaton will recognize outstanding papers in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management and operations management written by student(s). Selected papers will be considered for the competition and must be presented. The paper will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. A group of academics / professionals will serve as judges. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging. Winners will receive award certificate and monetary award based on the sponsorship. These awards are presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.
Master Thesis Presentation Competition
IEOM Master Thesis Presentation Award recognizes outstanding research in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management, operations management and related areas. Students must enroll in the masters’ program during the current academic year. These awards are presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.

Doctoral Dissertation Presentation Competition
IEOM Doctoral Dissertation Presentation Award recognizes outstanding research in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management, operations management, and related areas. Students must enroll in the doctoral program during the current academic year. These awards are presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.
Submit a paper or synopsis of your dissertation online and bring your power point at conference event.
Undergraduate STEM Research Competition
The IEOM Undergraduate Research Competition will recognize outstanding research presentations in the field of industrial engineering and operations management presented by student(s). Students can submit abstract only or paper and present. The presentation will be judged based on the presentation only. A group of academics / professionals will serve as judges. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging. Winners will receive award certificate. These awards are presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.
IEOM Senior Design Project Competition
The IEOM Capstone Student Design Project / Final Year Project (FYP) Competition will recognize outstanding design projects in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, engineering management and operations management prepared by a student team. The capstone student design project team can showcase their engineering design project by submitting a summary of the project as an abstract and present it. It should highlight problem-solving, creative thinking, innovation, project planning, and teamwork through a challenging design and build project. Each submission must be presented. The presentations will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. These awards are presented at the IEOM Conference. Award certificates will be given to the best senior design project presenters.
High School STEM Project Competition
The IEOM High School STEM Competition celebrates the achievements of outstanding high school students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through innovative and creative projects. This competition provides a platform for young minds to showcase their research, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills. Students may participate individually or in teams, submitting research projects in STEM-related fields. Each submission must include a summary outlining the project’s objectives, methodology, findings, and potential impact. Projects will be evaluated based on technical content, innovation, and presentation quality. Top submissions will be recognized with award certificates, honoring students’ contributions to STEM advancements. This competition fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry, inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
IEOM Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) Competition
The AI-ML Competition serves as a premier platform for experts, innovators, and industry leaders to showcase groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning. This event fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange, exploring cutting-edge AI applications, data-driven strategies, and emerging technologies across various sectors, including higher education and industry. Participants will present real-world case studies, innovative AI solutions, and data analytics methodologies that demonstrate the transformative impact of AI in decision-making, operational efficiency, and business strategy. The competition also highlights best industry practices, offering a unique opportunity for professionals and researchers to gain insights into AI-driven innovation. Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges based on technical innovation, practical impact, and strategic relevance, ensuring recognition of the most promising AI solutions shaping the future.
IEOM Global Design Competition
The Student Global Design Competition offers students a unique opportunity to develop and showcase innovative ideas with commercial potential. Participants will collaborate in teams to conceptualize, design, and prototype a groundbreaking product or solution.
Teams are required to submit an abstract, paper, or PowerPoint presentation detailing their design journey, from ideation to prototyping. The final PowerPoint presentation should comprehensively highlight key aspects of the project, including:
- Problem Identification: Define the challenge your design aims to solve.
- Innovation & Uniqueness: Explain what makes your idea novel and marketable.
- Design & Development Process: Outline the steps taken from concept to prototype.
- Feasibility & Commercial Potential: Assess the scalability and real-world impact of the design.
- Technical & Engineering Aspects: Showcase the core functionalities and design specifications.
This competition encourages creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking, preparing students to translate their ideas into real-world solutions.
Human Factors and Ergonomics Competition
The IEOM Human Factors and Ergonomics Competition will recognize outstanding case studies in the area of human factors, occupational ergonomics, industrial accidents, safety, OSHA and NIOSH guidelines implementations, occupational health, etc. Selected papers will be considered for the competition and must be presented at the IEOM Dubai Conference. The paper will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the IEOM India Conference award event.
Lean Six Sigma Competition sponsored by Tooling Tech Group
The IEOM Lean Six Sigma Competition will recognize outstanding case studies in the area of lean and six sigma. Selected papers will be considered for the competition and must be presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando. The paper will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. Simulation Competition
The IEOM Simulation Competition will recognize outstanding simulation project in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, operations management and related fields. Students can showcase their engineering simulation or design project by submitting a summary of the project as an abstract or paper and presenting it. Each submission must be presented. The presentation will be judged based on the technical content and oral presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.
Supply Chain and Logistics Competition
The IEOM Logistics Supply Chain Competition will recognize outstanding case studies in the area of logistics and supply chain management. Selected papers will be considered for the competition and must be presented at the IEOM Detroit Conference. The paper will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.
Poster Competition
The IEOM Best Poster Competition Awards recognize the best poster presentations. Three awards will be given for the first, second and third places. These awards are presented at the 2025 IEOM Conference in Orlando.
