Presentation Title: AI in Manufacturing: Predictive Analytics, Digital Twins, and the Future of Industry 5.0
Abdallah Chehade is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He is the current director of the Master’s program in Engineering Management. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research focuses on explainable AI, reliability, deep learning models, and Bayesian statistics for prognostic and reliability analytics. Dr. Chehade’s research work has received multiple awards at prestigious venues, including IEEE ITEC, IISE, and INFORMS, and his research lab has been majorly sponsored by industry-funded projects. He serves on the editorial board for IEEE Transactions on Automation Science & Engineering, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, and the Conference on Automation Science & Engineering. Dr. Chehade is an active professional member of INFORMS, IEEE, and IISE.

Presentation Title: Transforming Manufacturing with AI: From Vision to Reality
Jesús Vázquez Hernández is a Professor, Consultant, and Researcher of Master in Engineering Management at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, postgraduate studies in Foresight and Strategic Intelligence, and a Ph.D. in Strategic Planning and Technology Management. He collaborates as a Master Level Instructor in APICS, the Demand Driven Institute, and the Project Management Institute. With over 25 years of industry project experience using the TLS methodology (ToC+Lean+SixSigma) at Master Black Belt level, Dr. Vázquez conducts research on Industry 4.0 in Supply Chain Management. He has held managerial positions at companies like Vitro, Ingersoll Rand, and Owens-Illinois. Since 2008, he has been a postgraduate and professional instructor in engineering and business at various private universities, including Tecnológico de Monterrey, Ibero, and UdeM. In 2022, he joined the National System of Researchers in Mexico. In 2024, he was awarded the title of Sensei (先生) in Japan for the Japanese Production System (TPS). Currently, he serves as a consultant and advisor for various companies.

Raghu Gurumurthy is Director of Operations at Crossover Solutions USA Inc. He is seasoned industrial engineering expert with over 10 years of experience in the field of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. Raghu successfully executed over 70 IE consulting engagements from 2015-2022 across a wide spectrum of industries including Automotive, Energy Storage Systems, Food & Beverage, Building Products, Aviation, Industrial Gases, Chemicals, Oil & Gas. He helped clients realize over $450 million in earnings and cost avoidance by streamlining processes through application of lean principles and best practices and well-recognized for proficiency in analyzing and mitigating operational pain points; resourceful decision maker that combines strong leadership and organizational skills.
Raghu worked as an Industrial Engineer at Industrial Engineering Technologies, Inc., Toledo, Ohio where he delivered IE consulting and change management support to firms ranging from start-ups to top Fortune 50 companies. He worked collaboratively with clients in their challenging situations, crafting and implementing workplans that optimize outcomes. As a part of IET’s leadership team, Raghu was heavily involved in all aspects of the firm’s operations including sales, business development, project delivery, HR practices and strategy.
Raghu earned Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Pune, India and : Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from University of Texas at Arlington, USA. He has various certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt (ASQ), Throughput Improvement Process, Theory of Constraints, Ergonomics Technical Training, Lean Manufacturing, Time Studies and World Class Manufacturing.

Presentation Title: Role of Artificial Intelligence in Automotive Product Development
Revansidha D. Chabukswar is an award-winning engineer and academic researcher with more than 18 years of experience in the automotive industry. He has expertise in various domains including Body in White, Vehicle Integration, Interior and Exterior, and Automotive Glass (laminated and tempered), along with extensive experience in product engineering and management. Currently he is working as Product Design and Development Lead at AGC Automotive Americas, a leading supplier of automotive glazing for the North American OEM and aftermarket industries. In the past, he held various engineering positions at leading global automakers, including Mercedes Benz (India and Germany), Toyota North America, Aston Martin Lagonda (UK), Honda R&D Americas, and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (India). He is a recipient of best performer award from managing director of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, Star performer award by CEO of Mercedes Benz India, a project awarded (second place) in a national-level technical festival held at SGGS Institute of Engineering and Technology, India. He has published three journal articles and one book chapter. Currently, he serves on the editorial board of the World Journal of Engineering Research and Technology, a reviewer for the International Journal of Engineering Research & Technology, and a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success. Revansidha earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Eastern Michigan University (USA) and Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University (India).

Dr. Samuel Mills
Specialist Additive Manufacturing Engineer

Presentation Title: Advanced Manufacturing of High Bay Lighting
Sam Mills is currently serving Eaton Research Labs as a Specialist Engineer on the Advanced Materials team. Sam’s current work is focused on additive manufacturing, design for manufacturing, and enhanced conductivity materials.
Sam’s experience prior to joining ERL included serving Lockheed Martin as a mechanical engineer leading the operations for aluminum additive manufacturing. He held the position of Assistant Director and Adjunct Professor of Additive Manufacturing at the University of Colorado Denver. He was responsible for the industry-academia relationship where he secured capital equipment donations from industry partners to build a state-of-the-art additive facility used to develop students and support local businesses. During his time at the university, he also designed the CAD and additive manufacturing curriculum. He served as a Technical Advisor to Impressio Inc., a startup spun off from University of Colorado Denver focusing on 3D printing of novel liquid-crystal elastomers for high-impact applications like NFL helmets.
Sam earned his Ph.D. and M.S, in Mechanical Engineering from University of Colorado Denver and B.S. in Mechanical University from the University of Kansas. In his free time, he enjoys home renovation projects, working on his car, playing golf, and 3D printing toys for the kids in the neighborhood.
