10th IEOM Global Supply Chain and Logistics

10th IEOM Society International addresses the issues of Global Supply Chain & Logistics and Business Management Education. There are various levels of readiness of engineering graduates from various parts of the world. One of the main themes is how to reduce the readiness gap of business management graduates around the world. The special focus is given to operations management, management science, supply chain management, business analytics, and logistics management. Are the graduates ready to take on the challenges of the current global economy? IEOM Paraguay Conference will have a dedicated session for the Global Business Management Education where distinguished speakers will discuss the readiness of business management graduates for workforce around the world. Featured speakers will be from various part of the world to address business management education challenges and opportunities.

Dr. Ferdoush Saleheen brings more than 20 years of end-to-end Supply Chain Management experience working with multinationals and local conglomerates in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Household Electronics, and Agrobusiness both in the manufacturing and retail industry in South East Asia as such Singer, LG, Akij and Partex Star Group. He is a Supply Chain and Business Transformation specialist and transformed operations at Akij Food & Beverage Ltd, and LG Bangladesh as Head of Supply Chain and managed integrated operations from planning, procurement, foreign trade, manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics. He is currently working as Chief Supply Chain Officer at Partex Star Group (Danish) which is involved in Milk Powder, Condensed Milk, Tea, Tissue, Snacks, and Steel business.
Apart from corporate, Dr. Ferdoush is also involved in academia and since 2014, he has been working as an Asst. Professor of Supply Chain and teaches in MS, MBA, and Executive MBA at BRAC University, ULAB University in Bangladesh. He is also a guest faculty at the University of Hull in the UK. Academically, Dr. Ferdoush Saleheen obtained his PhD degree in Supply Chain Management from AACSB accredited Malaysian Government University – Universiti Utara Malaysia, MS degree in Logistics from University of Texas at Arlington in the United States, and MBA degree from Victoria University Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Ferdoush is a Fellow at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), International – the highest professional body for Logistics and Transport professionals in the UK. He has more than 30 global publications in journal and conference proceedings on Supply Chain Management, Operations, and Management in Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), IGI Global, Nova Publishers, etc.

Piera Centobelli is Asst. Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. Piera is currently Professor of Business Economics and Organization at the same university. In 2013, Piera received with honors the MSc Degree in Engineering Management at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. In 2016, she held a Ph.D. in Technology and Production Systems at the Department of Chemicals, Materials and Industrial Production Engineering (DICMAPI) of the same university. From 2013 until 2016 she joined the Fraunhofer Joint Laboratory of Excellence on Advanced Production Technology (J-LEAPT) in partnership with Fh-IWU of Chemnitz. Her research interests focus on knowledge and technology management, operations management, logistics and supply chain management, corporate social responsibility, circular economy, triple bottom line, environmental, economic and social sustainability, decision support systems, Industry 4.0, digital transformation, digital factory.

Md Jaman is a Supply Chain Planner at Pepsico where he oversees the supply chain, from raw to finished goods, of the innovation and current products produced in Kansas, United States. He proactively engaged with cross-functional teams to achieve a streamlined supply chain. Prior to Pepsico, he worked at AGCO Corporation, a leading ag global industry, where he was a key player to launch global new products as well as migrating to a digital manufacturing environment by launching the Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management system and introducing new change management and electronic work instruction to eliminate paper prints. He also worked at CNH Industrial and Linde Bangladesh Limited. He has an advanced degree in industrial engineering from Wichita State University, USA. He has Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

Mesbahuddin Chowdhury is a senior lecturer in management, Department of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, UC Business School, University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. He formerly served as Research Fellow in the Department of Accounting, Monash University, Australia. Dr. Chowdhury’s current research interests focus on the role of social capital in buyer-supplier relationship and the impact of supplier management practice on performance improvement. He has been published in peer-reviewed journal such as International Journal of Production Economics. He published a number of book chapters in Cases in Business and Management.
