Extended Hotel Stay
If you plan to arrive before the conference or stay after the conference, we recommend that you first make your reservation using the official IEOM conference dates and the IEOM group rate.
After making your reservation, contact the hotel directly by email or phone to request additional nights or changes to your reservation.
The hotel will confirm whether the IEOM group rate can be extended to your additional nights.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is main major airport for international and long-distance travelers. LAX is approximately 48 miles from the conference hotel, so participants should allow additional travel time, particularly during peak traffic periods.

- Airport shuttle/private transportation services
John Wayne Airport – Orange County (SNA)
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is the closest commercial airport to the conference hotel. The Courtyard by Marriott Irvine Spectrum is approximately 8.5 miles from SNA, making it a very convenient option for travelers arriving in Irvine.
However, SNA is a smaller airport with a more limited number of flight options compared with larger airports such as Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In the event of a flight cancellation, delay, or schedule change, travelers may have fewer alternative flights available.
International participants and travelers who require greater flexibility in case of flight changes may wish to consider LAX, which offers a much larger selection of domestic and international flights.
From SNA to the Conference Hotel
The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle service.

Rideshare and taxi services are generally the most convenient options for conference participants traveling from SNA to the hotel.

Uber and Lyft are widely used transportation options in the Irvine area and are convenient for travel between the airport, hotel, conference venues, restaurants, and research/industry tour locations. Participants should use the official Uber or Lyft apps to request rides.
Taxi
Taxi service is also available from the airports and throughout the Irvine area. For airport transportation, participants should follow the airport’s designated ground-transportation signs and pickup locations.
Rental Cars
Rental cars are available at the major Southern California airports. A rental car may be convenient for participants who plan to:
- Visit multiple conference-related locations
- Participate in industry and research tours
- Explore Orange County and Southern California
- Travel to Los Angeles, San Diego, or other nearby destinations

TRAIN & PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Irvine Station – Metrolink & Amtrak
Irvine Station is a major transportation hub in the Irvine Spectrum area. It is served by Metrolink and Amtrak, as well as local and regional bus services operated by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA).

From the station, participants can use rideshare, taxi, or local shuttle/bus services to reach the Irvine Spectrum area.
The Irvine Spectrum Center is located just over one mile from Irvine Station, and local transportation connections are available.
Metrolink
Metrolink provides regional rail connections serving Orange County and surrounding Southern California communities.
Participants arriving by train should check the current Metrolink schedule before travel, as schedules vary by day and service.
Local Bus & Shuttle Services
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) operates local and regional bus services throughout Orange County.
The Irvine Station area serves as a hub for several OCTA routes and other local transportation services.
For travel to Irvine Spectrum Center, local shuttle and bus connections are available from Irvine Station. OCTA also identifies Irvine Connect as a shuttle option serving the Irvine Spectrum area
