Professional Member (MIEOM) – criteria:
This is for practitioners and academics who are actively shaping the field.
- Holds a degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Quality Engineering, Lean Systems, Automation, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, or any related discipline, or possesses equivalent professional experience demonstrating engagement in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management domains.
- Actively contributes to the IEOM community by sharing knowledge, presenting research at conferences, or participating in chapter activities.
- Supports the value of Professional Development and Lifelong Learning by continually seeking to improve their skills and staying current with industry trends.
- Embodies the value of Globalization, Diversity, and Inclusion by collaborating with professionals from different backgrounds and contributing to society’s global network.
Student Member (StMIEOM) – criteria:
This is for practitioners and academics who are actively shaping the field.
- Enroll in an educational institute in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Quality Engineering, Lean Systems, Automation, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, or any related discipline, or possesses equivalent professional experience demonstrating engagement in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management domains.

This designation recognizes experienced professionals who have made a significant impact on the field.
- Possessed extensive professional experience (10+ years) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Quality Engineering, Lean Systems, Automation, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, or any related discipline, or possesses equivalent professional experience demonstrating engagement in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management domains. with a documented history of impactful contributions to the discipline.
- Demonstrates Innovative and Entrepreneurial Thinking by leading significant projects, developing new methodologies, or pioneering solutions within their organization or academia.
- Shows a clear commitment to Building Partnerships among Industry, Academia, and Government through successful collaborations that advance the field and create opportunities for others.
- Serves as a mentor to junior professionals and students, fulfilling the value of Student Empowerment and Mentoring.
Life Member (LMIEOM) – Criteria
This category honors professionals for their enduring support and commitment to society.
- A professional member who has shown long-standing involvement and dedication to the IEOM Society’s mission.
- His/her commitment reflects the value of Lifelong Learning and a belief in the long-term importance of the society’s work.
- Provides ongoing support to the organization, helping to ensure its stability and continued growth for future generations of members.

This recognition is conferred by IEOM to individuals who have distinguished themselves through long-term, exceptional service and leadership.
- Recognized for distinguished contributions in research, leadership, and service that have had a profound and lasting impact on the IEOM discipline and the society itself.
- Embodies all the IEOM values, serving as a role model for the global community.
- His/her work must demonstrably align with the IEOM vision of advancing the discipline for the betterment of humanity, with contributions to Sustainability and Community Development.
- Holds a long-standing history of membership and active engagement and has a proven track record of mentorship and community building.
Life Fellow (LFIEOM) – criteria:
Candidates for Life Fellow status demonstrate exceptional, sustained achievements and global impact in the field of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM).
- Achieved sustained, globally recognized theoretical or practical innovations in IEOM—evidenced by numerous high-impact publications, patents, or the creation of widely adopted tools, frameworks, or methodologies that have advanced the discipline.
- Held senior leadership positions such as Dean, Department Chair, Chief Engineer, or Chief Executive Officer, demonstrating measurable and transformative influence on their organization, industry, or the academic community.
- Made outstanding and long-term contributions to IEOM education through mentoring numerous students and professionals, leading significant curriculum innovations, or promoting IEOM education and capacity building.
- Applied IEOM principles to address grand challenges in sustainability, community development, or humanitarian causes—resulting in verifiable, long-term positive impacts on society and the environment.
Honorary Member (HIEOM) – criteria:
This is the recognition conferred by IEOM to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM).
- Possess distinguished national or international recognition demonstrated through prestigious awards, honorary degrees, high-level appointments, or equivalent honors reflecting exceptional achievement and leadership.
- Provide clear evidence that their work, advocacy, or professional service has significantly advanced the status, direction, or global development of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management.
- Embody the core values of IEOM—globalization, diversity, inclusion, and professional development—through personal integrity, ethical leadership, and commitment to the betterment of the global professional community.
Associate Member (AIEOM) – criteria:
Eligibility Criteria: This membership grade is intended for individuals who are beginning their professional journey in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management or related disciplines. It provides an entry point into the IEOM professional community.
- Holds a diploma, undergraduate degree, or equivalent qualification in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline; or is engaged in related professional work.
- Demonstrates a genuine interest in advancing their knowledge and involvement in IEOM areas such as continuous improvement, optimization, automation, quality, sustainability, or innovation.
- Seeks to develop professionally through participation in IEOM conferences, workshops, webinars, and chapter activities.
- Supports the core values of Professional Development, Lifelong Learning, and Global Collaboration by engaging with peers and mentors across the IEOM network.
- May transition to Professional Member (MIEOM) status upon gaining additional experience, credentials, or demonstrated contributions to the profession and the IEOM community.
The Associate Member (AIEOM) grade recognizes early-career professionals, recent graduates, and emerging practitioners who are building their foundation in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. It encourages professional growth, active participation, and progressive advancement within IEOM Society International.
