Industrial Engineering Open Day
EVENT PROPOSAL

About us

IEOM is a student organization at Qatar University. Our primary goal is to promote and advance the fields of industrial engineering and operations management. We strive to foster a community of professionals and students interested in optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving innovation in various industries to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. Our mission is to encourage critical thinking and its effective application in these fields, while also facilitating networking and collaboration.

Event Details

The industrial engineering open day is an event that includes a series of activities and games related to industrial engineering that students can participate in. The objective of this event is to help industrial engineering students understand what it truly means to be an industrial engineer and to encourage general engineering students to learn about this major. We hope to achieve this through the following activities:

  1. Booth 1 and 2: Renovating badly reviewed online products: In this activity, students will inspect products from online shops that are badly reviewed, with the aim of finding solutions to the problems that the consumers faced. A small description will be given of the product, and students will be encouraged to suggest ways to improve it. This is relevant to a course project ISE students take in Quality Design and Control.
  2. Booth 3,4,5 and 6 Senior and freshmen Q&A: Senior students will answer doubts about the major to new students and explain how we help improve systems in many different fields. This will help give a broader perspective and help students choose ISE as a major. The booths will contain past projects done by ISE students to showcase the type of work they will do.
