IEOM Industry Solutions sessions will showcase the industrial case studies and their impacts of the industrial solutions using IE / OM tools and techniques (lean, six sigma, FMEA, simulation, design of experiments, optimization, TOC, PLM, CAE, statistical analysis, safety, reliability, etc.) IEOM 2023 Houston Conference will have a dedicated session for the Industry Solutions where distinguished practitioners provide their presentations including their experiences and journey to be successful. Fifteen featured speakers will be from various part of the world to address industrial challenges and opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability. Each speaker needs to submit a title of the talk, abstract and a short bio as well as power point presentation prior to the conference. Ms. Buczkowski is currently employed as an Applications Service Engineer with A&D Technology and is pursuing the dual Master’s program of Engineering Management and Industrial Engineering at Lawrence Technological University as well as her Professional Engineering license in Mechanical Engineering. She graduated from Michigan Technological University in May 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, minoring in Music Performance.
Working for A&D Technology, Ms. Buczkowski has become one of the company’s experts in battery testing, engine testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing. She integrates her company’s software, iTest, at their office in Ann Arbor, MI as well as at customer facilities around the globe. Currently, acting as one of the administrators of A&D Technology’s service department and is the lead trainer in charge of training internal employees and customers on A&D products.
Ms. Buczkowski has spent four years working for A&D Technology, but also accumulated an additional two years of design and testing experience through internships and co-ops during her undergraduate studies. During her time attending Michigan Tech in Houghton, MI, Ms. Buczkowski performed with the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, serving as principal percussionist for four of her five years. As a final project for her Music Performance minor, she conducted a song with the Keweenaw Youth Symphony Orchestra. After graduation, she has maintained her appreciation for music performance and currently plays with the Dexter Community Orchestra.

Aaron Rubel is Head of Aircraft Maintenance Programs Development at the Mobile, Alabama Engineering Center of Airbus Americas. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has earned patented inventions. Aaron has over 30 years of combined professional aerospace and automotive experience in areas of engineering, design, risk analysis, problem solving, manufacturing, and leadership. Mr. Rubel earned a M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), a B.S. in Engineering Technology from Lawrence Technological University (LTU), and an Associate of Applied Science from Macomb Community College. Mr. Rubel’s honors include the Dr. Ron Cox Graduate Engineering Management Student Award given by UTC, and he was inducted into the LTU College of Engineering Hall of Fame. Service in the community is important to Aaron. He served on a Mobile (Alabama) Area Education Foundation strategic planning committee for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and for three years was the strategic planning committee chair and voting member on a local school board.

Rachel Stanford

Rachel Stanford is currently leading the Quality organization for the worldwide Bits & Drilling Tools manufacturing facilities at SLB, a global technology company in the energy industry. Rachel has been working for SLB for 15 years and has held positions in Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality, across the UK, Asia, and the US.
She started her career as a Field Engineer, working offshore in the South China Sea based out of Malaysia. This operations exposure gave Rachel a firsthand insight into how her products were used and allowed her to leverage this knowledge in her next position as Electronics Engineer to design better products. Rachel spent 2 years in a design role in England, before moving to Houston, Texas as a Reliability Engineer, focused on improving the performance of her products in the field. She was then promoted into Engineering Management, and in 2018 took up the position of Maintenance Manager in Scotland, covering all of Europe. Rachel stepped away from the energy industry for one year to work as a Reliability Engineer at Amazon to obtain exposure in a new industry, before returning to SLB in her current role as global Quality Manager for the Bits & Drilling Tools Manufacturing centers worldwide.
Rachel is originally from Northern Ireland, and holds a Masters degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast (2008). Rachel is an American Society for Quality Certified Reliability Engineer, and also holds the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. She is Lean Green Belt certified.
Rachel enjoys supporting young engineers in their career and is passionate about encouraging women into the Engineering field. She founded the “Rachel Stanford Scholarship for Emerging Leaders in Engineering and Computer Science” at Queen’s University, a scholarship aimed at supporting and encouraging female students into STEM subjects.
