Dwi Agustina Kurniawati, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga, Indonesia. She finished her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indonesia in 2003. Then she pursued her master’s degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2006. She got Ph.D degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2016, in Systems and Engineering Management, School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, NTU, Singapore. She has published numerous papers, both in journals and proceedings (conferences). She also has reviewed lots of papers in Industrial Engineering area. Her current research is in supply chain, cross-dock warehouse, modelling system, operation research, scheduling and special issue in halal supply chain. She has received many research grants in her research area. Her biography is included in Who’s Who in the World year 2015 and 2018 and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering year 2016 and 2017 by Marquis Publication, USA. She was the former head of Industrial Engineering Laboratory and former head of Industrial Engineering Department. Currently, she becomes the head of Quality System Controller in her faculty and the head of Optimization, Operation Research and Industrial Systems Research Group (2ORIS-RG). She also becomes the member of INFORMS, IEOM and IAENG.

Azanizawati Ma’aram is an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She obtained her Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical-Industrial) and Master of Engineering (Advanced Manufacturing Technology) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia. She pursued her Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) (Management) at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. She has held several positions including Director of Department of Materials, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Associate Chair (Quality and Strategy), Head of Industrial Panel, Postgraduate Coordinator for Master of Science (Industrial Engineering), and Laboratory Coordinator for Industrial Engineering. She is certified as an Engineering Technologist (Ts.) by the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). She is a member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and the Board of Engineers (BEM) Malaysia. She has taught courses in industrial engineering, supply chain management (undergraduate and postgraduate levels), engineering management and safety, work design, ergonomics and research methodology. Her research interests include supply chain management, performance measurement, lean manufacturing, sustainability, ergonomics, safety and medical devices. She is currently active as a Project Leader and a Project Member on numerous research projects and has secured several grants funded by the university, the Ministry of Education (MoE) and industrial grants that involve hospitals, industry collaborators as well as international researchers.

After completing his PhD, Irwandi joined International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as an academic staff in 2001. Since then, Irwandi has held various administrative post, from Programme Coordinator, Deputy Dean (Students Affairs), and Deputy Dean (Research Initiatives) at Research Management Centre. In 2011, he received his Professorship and currently is appointed as the Director, International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART) of IIUM. Irwandi also serves as the Secretary, IIUM Council of Professor. His initial research began with his interest in lipid peroxidation and antioxidative activities of natural products. He then conducted studies on carotenoids and anti-cancer properties he started when he had 2-years fellowship in National Food Research Institute (NFRI), Japan, after receiving a prestigious Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) award. Currently, he is the principal researcher of 7 research projects, mostly in areas related to Halal Science, Food Biotechnology and Natural Products, funded by various funding agency such as the Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and National Plans for Science and Technology (NPST), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he is the co-researcher for another 14 on-going research projects. This is in addition to his 16 completed research projects where he was appointed as the principal investigator. To date, Irwandi has chalked up a remarkable achievement in research which include: 75 scientific papers published in reputable international journals; contributed to 30 book-chapters; presented more than 150 research papers in international conferences – including keynote address and invited lectures; written more than 50 non-refereed and mass-media scientific articles. His dedication to research has enabled him to file 3 patents under his name, and his outstanding achievement is recognized both locally and internationally, bagging more than 60 scientific awards. Irwandi is a three-time recipient of IIUM Outstanding Researcher Awards. He is also the recipient of Asia Pacific Young Scientist Award 2010 by SCOPUS and the prestigious Habibie Award 2013 in the field of Medicine and Biotechnology.

Yandra Arkeman is an expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology. He earned a PhD in Manufacturing Systems Engineering with dissertation on Intelligent Manufacturing Systems using Genetic Algorithms from University of South Australia (2000). Then he conducted his first Post Doctoral research at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Kansai University, Osaka, Japan, for 2 years (2004-2006) and his second Post Doctoral research at Department of Computer Science, George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, USA, for 4 months (2009/2010). His biography is included in Who’s Who in Science and Engineering 1998/1999 by Marquis Publication, USA.
He had a Master of Engineering in Advanced Manufacturing Technology from University of South Australia with the thesis on Application of Artificial Intelligence for Flexible Manufacturing Systems Design. He obtained his first degree in Agroindustrial Technology from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Indonesia, with the “skripsi” (undergraduate thesis) on CAQ (Computer Aided Quality).
He is a Professor at Department of Agroindustrial Technology as well as Department of Computer Science, IPB University. Since 2008, he also works at Surfactant and Bioenergy Research Center (SBRC) at IPB University, as a researcher on bioenergy sustainability and climate change. He was the Head of SBRC in 2019. He is now the Head of Master Program in Agro-Maritime Logistics, Post Graduate School, IPB University. He is also a researcher at Halal Science Center, IPB University.
In March 2014, he established a research group, namely CEALS (Center of Excellence for Agroindustrial Logistics and Supply Chain Management). In 2018 he established another research group, namely BRAIN (Blockchain, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Networks. He is now focussing his research in the areas of applications of AI, blockchain and IoT (Internet of Things) for Agri-food and Bioenergy Logistics and SCM.

Suhaiza Hanim Mohamad Zailani received her MSc and PhD in Management Science from Lancaster University, England, United Kingdom, in 1995 and 1998, respectively. She is a Professor of Supply Chain with the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, Universiti Malaya, and was a Director of the University Malaya Entrepreneurship Centre (UMEC). As a director, she was responsible for identifying attractive opportunities for the graduates to be excelled as an entrepreneur through her excellent industry linkage, both locally and overseas. Under her directorship, her center has been selected as the best 20 entrepreneurship centers in the world for the ACCSB Entrepreneurship Spotlight Challenge. This challenge showcases how AACSB-accredited schools engage with business practice to provide students an opportunity to gain to core skills required to be successful in business whether that business is a start-up or a world-renowned corporation.

She got her Bachelor degree at Trisakti University, Jakarta – Indonesia, then she graduated Master Degree at STIE IBII, Jakarta – Indonesia, and graduated her Ph.D at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia in 2018. Her apprentice college experience was in paper at Kertas Bekasi Teguh, shoe at PT Jaya Harapan Barutama, automotive chain drive industry at Federal Superior Chain Manufacturing. She teaches Production System and Supply Chain Management Subjects and her Ph.D research about Indonesian Business Incubator. She actively writes for almost 40 publication since 2008 in Industrial Engineering research sector such as: Production Scheduling, Plant Lay Out, Maintenance, Line Balancing, Supply Chain Management, Production Planning and Inventory Control. Ts. Dr. Aini Zuhra Abdul Kadir is an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering (SME), Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Dr. Aini Zuhra obtained her Bachelor of Engineering (CAD/CAM) and Master of Engineering (Manufacturing) from University of Malaya, Malaysia and her PhD (Mechanical Engineering) from University of Auckland, New Zealand. In 2019, she conducted her Postdoctoral studies at Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Centre (AMMC), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Malaysia (UTHM). During this period, she was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship Grant under “REliability and Safety Engineering and Technology for large maritime engineering systems (RESET), Horizon 2020, project for a secondment networking visit to University of Aalto, Finland. Between 2013-2019, she was appointed as the Coordinator for MSc (Advanced Manufacturing Technology) program. Currently, she is the Postgraduate Academic Manager at SME, Head of Advanced Manufacturing Research Group (AMRG) as well as the Group Leader for Future Ready Educators in Cooperative Learning. She currently teaches Product Design and Manufacture, Product Innovation and Development, Tooling for Production and Manufacturing Processes. Her research interests include Design for Additive Manufacturing, Smart Manufacturing, STEP/STEP-NC, CAD/CAM/CAPP, Virtual Manufacturing and product design. Dr. Aini, has secured several government grants, is currently an active Project Leader and a Project Member of various community-based research organisations.

Rabeatul Husna Abdull Rahman is an Associate Professor at the School of Human Resource Development & Psychology, University Technology of Malaysia. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Human Resource Development from the University Technology of Malaysia, and her PhD in Social Science and Policy (Retention Strategies for Malaysian Engineers) from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Her research interests include female workers, disabled employees, gig workers, and migrant workers, among others. Her study focuses on improving individual and organisational well-being through human resource policies, practises, and strategies. She is currently conducting research on employees’ involvement in trade unions, issues and challenges faced by food riders and has been appointed as the reference expert for the Institute of Labour Market Information and Analysis (ILMIA), Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources, to assist with their research on Malaysians working in Singapore.

Bertha Maya Sopha is an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering Program, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. She was a former head of the Laboratory of Supply Chain Engineering and Logistics in 2013-2015, and a former director of the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program in 2016-2021. She currently serves as a chair of the Indonesian Association of Industrial Engineering Higher Education Institution (BKSTI), and vice-president of IEOM Indonesia Chapter. She earned a Bachelor of Engineering (best graduate) from Universitas Gadjah Mada, a master’s degree of Management of Production specialization in Transportation and Logistics (graduate with distinction) from the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. She holds a Ph.D. from the Industrial Ecology Programme, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. She has maintained a high quality of research throughout her academic career including international scholarly leadership in supply chain management and logistics, industrial ecology, and complex system modeling. She has been invited as a keynote speaker and given public lectures at symposiums and international conferences in Indonesia and abroad. She has also received various academic achievements, awards, and recognitions such as Distinguished Woman in Industry and Academia (WIIA) by IEOM Society, the Best Lecturer runner-up at Universitas Gadjah Mada, best paper awards at several international and national conferences, and research grantee awards from both Indonesia and abroad institutions. She has professional and community engagement activities to significantly improve the university’s reputation through industrial projects and community services. She has conducted a research project with SINTEF Industrial Management (Norway), ENOVA SF (Norway), PT Pos Indonesia, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, Boeing USA, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, Regional Disaster Management Agency, and Ministry of Transportation, and Ministry of Industry. Dr. Rey is an executive with expertise leading teams in process excellence, digital transformation, and analytics across diverse businesses. In his stint in the multinational companies he worked for, he was recognized in various company’s global awards for leading and implementing multiple innovative improvement programs and projects that delivered significant value to the organization.
He is the current President of the Philippine Society for Quality (PSQ), the AVP for Lean Digital Transformation of Genpact, and a Faculty Member of the MBA program of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He is also one of the 4 Appointees of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, President Rodrigo R. Duterte, to be part of the Philippine Quality Award Executive Committee. He also got nominated and elected to the International Academy for Quality (IAQ) as an Associate Academician.
He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Certified Learning & Development Professional, Certified Digital Transformation Professional, and Certified in de Bono Six Thinking Hats®. A Ph.D. holder in Lean Product and Process Development from Cranfield University, United Kingdom. His core competencies are in Lean Product Development, Lean Manufacturing, Shop Floor Management, Lean Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honours from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2005. Having worked within the automotive and aerospace industry for over 10 years, he has developed a wide range of Production and Lean Manufacturing skills. He started his career with UMW Toyota Motor Malaysia as Assistant Engineer in 2003. In 2005, he joined Proton Holdings Bhd. as an Engineer in the Production Trim & Final Department. In 2009, he was appointed as Section Manager in the Industrial Engineering Department, responsible for the development of Proton Production System. In early 2014, he joined Volkswagen Group Malaysia as Assistant Manager of Process Improvement Department at Pekan Plant. Dr. Ichsan has more than 16 years of experience in renewable energy (geothermal, biodiesel, bioethanol, biomass, biogas, microalgae-fuel based, solar photovoltaic, wind energy, and hydropower), energy efficiency (energy audit and energy benchmark), and waste management (organic waste processing with maggot Black Soldier Fly/BSF, waste-to-biofuel, industrial wastewater treatment, and wastewater for algae-to-protein). He has more than 8 years of experience in developing rural areas in Indonesia (more than 350 villages) and cooperating with local governments (more than 80 regencies in Indonesia). Between 2020-2021, he was a Former Circular Economy Advisor at The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Between 2014-2018, he was the Senior Manager of Renewable Energy for the biggest grant projects in Indonesia (USD 600 million) at MCA-Indonesia (a Trust Fund organization from the US Government, under BAPPENAS), he was in charge of managing USD 200 million grant of renewable energy projects. Dr. Ichsan received his Doctorate degree from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, the Netherlands (Process & Product Design), Master’s degree from Hochschule Bremerhaven, Germany (Process Engineering & Energy Technology), and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Indonesia, Indonesia (Gas & Petrochemical Engineering). The development of electric vehicles with renewable energy system itself can grow new business innovation. There is huge requirement for technopreneur who can develop new business by relying on innovation to accommodate new technologies and engineering innovation especially in the application of renewable energy system for electric vehicle. In this panel, it is hoped that the experts can discuss the following questions:

Started working as a car mechanic, he then pursued his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Automotive Engineering (majoring in Motorsports) from University of Hertfordshire, UK, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UTM. Before joining UTM, he was the Powertrain Lead Development Engineer in a car manufacturer for 12 years. He has involved in many passenger car development projects across Europe and Japan with various global automotive companies. Today, he is leading a group of researchers in ADC to conduct research under the theme of Next-Generation Vehicles. Apart from research, he is also active providing expertise and consultations across many industries and local government agencies. His areas of interest and exploration are in the road vehicle powertrain system and driving behaviour. In his spare time, he is also involved in the local motorsport scene.

Jose Evaldo Geraldo Costa is an interdisciplinary fellowship researcher working in a project funded by Portuguese agency for science and technology (FCT). He has experience in Environmental Sciences and Environmental Engineering. His background includes a Ph.D. in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies from NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal, and a Ph.D. in Business Economics at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium. His research focuses on sustainable transition pathways. Specifically, on mechanisms to support the decarbonizing of economy through boost renewable energy sources (RES), clean technologies, digitalization, and innovation processes. He has been exploring various theories and mobilized a wide range of methods and techniques, and tools covering quantitative, qualitative studies. His previous research evaluated on renewables source (solar and wind), electric mobility, and its infrastructure, and industry considering a) business model innovation; b) CO2 emissions inventory; c) energy balance; and d) public policies to overcome socio-technical barriers. He has relevant international experience in collaborative research in North America (USA), Europe (Belgium, Ireland, Portugal, United Kingdom) and South America (Brazil); publishing articles in top/peer-reviewed journals, experiencing presentations at international conferences (Europe, North America, South America, and Africa); submitting projects for national and international funding agencies; and member of previous funded project. Furthermore, he has acted as a reviewer for top/indexed journals, become a member of a Ph.D. supervisory board, and keeps a wide and active international scientific relationship network. Before shifting his career to the research field, he worked several years as a university professor, and as an international industry consultant. He hopes contributing to a more sustainable and a better world.

After completed her bachelor’s degree, Dr. Masha spent around five years working on local and international projects in the oil and gas industry. Her task was to look after contracts on logistic management for offshore transportation, installation, hook-up, and commissioning phase. In 2018, she obtained a Ph.D. from University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK with a thesis entitled Performance Measurement Framework for the Oil and Gas Supply Chain. Izak Y. M. Lattu, Ph.D., is the Director of the Center for the Study of Religion, Pluralism, and Democracy (PusAPDem), Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga, Indonesia. He also serves as a professor in interreligious engagements and peace at the same university, a regular visiting professor at the Center for Religious and Cross-cultural Studies (CRCS), Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, visiting professor at the American Studies program, University of Indonesia, and visiting scholar at Rutgers International Peace Center, Rutgers University, New Arks, USA. Izak earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the Graduate Theological Union, an affiliated school of the University of California, Berkeley, under a Fulbright grant, the US State Department scholarship. His dissertation won a pre-doctoral research award from Ash Center, Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University (2013 – 2014). His forthcoming book, Rethinking Interreligious Dialogue: Orality, Collective Memory and Christian-Muslim Engagements, will be published by Brill Publisher (March 2023).
