IEOM Certifications
IEOM Society International provides professional certifications in several areas, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB), GD&T, FMEA, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Energy, and Reliability, based on testing and evaluation.
Certification workshops can be arranged at the IEOM headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, USA, or conducted virtually with a minimum participation of 10 people. University partnership options are available for institutions teaching certification-related courses.

IEOM Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) Certification
(Exam + Lean Six Sigma Project)
The IEOM Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) Certification is designed for students, faculty members, engineers, researchers, and industry professionals seeking practical knowledge and applied experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Certification Requirements
Participants must:
- Pass the IEOM LSSGB Examination
- Complete and submit a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) project report. The Six Sigma project must solve real-world problems and showcase the impacts of the project.
After successfully passing the examination, participants will receive a Conditional Green Belt Certificate.
To obtain the Full IEOM LSSGB Certification, participants must submit an LSS project report limited to 12 pages following the IEOM paper format. The project must be reviewed and approved by the IEOM Certification Committee.

Certification Renewal
To maintain an active certification status, renewal is required with evidence of continuing Lean Six Sigma activities or projects.

Certified IEOM Professional / Practitioner Certification
The IEOM Society International Certified IEOM Professional / Practitioner Certification is designed to develop comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management areas through examinations, problem-based learning (PBL), and project-based learning activities.

IEOM FMEA/DFMEA Certification
The IEOM FMEA certification will provide a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the FMEA processes which is used in product, process, and system. It will also cover the different aspects of FMEA including product design, manufacturing processes, and during use. Historical background, case studies and software will be used as part of the course exercises. Essentials of a successful FMEA project will be addressed. Valued engineering matrix will be used for alternative design and manufacturing. Interactive FMEA will be developed.
IEOM GD&T Certification
The IEOM GD&T certification will provide a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) which is used on engineering drawings and solid models for describing nominal geometry and its allowable tolerances in product design, manufacturing, assemblies and inspections. It will also cover various terminologies, symbols, rules, and tolerance stack-up in the product development processes for industry standards including ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
IEOM Reliability Certification
The IEOM Reliability Certification will provide a through understanding of reliability tools and techniques for continuous improvement of reliability in industry and design.
IEOM Supply Chain Management Certification
By the receiving of the IEOM Supply Chain Management Certification, you should be able to:
