What is all about?
The Student Global Design Competition provides an opportunity to develop an innovative idea that has the potential to be commercialized. Students will form a team, develop a preliminary idea, record, and submit an abstract and begin the process of creating an abstract, paper or PowerPoint presentation that will tell the story of your product. The following elements of the team idea should be included in your final PowerPoint presentation.

Get your team or teams registered for the competition
Submit your preliminary “Big Idea” as the initial submission for your team along via paper, abstract, PPT or post.
Criteria
- Each team should have 3-4 members
- Must present the original idea
- Students must be the first author. Faculty can join as a co-author.
- Each attendee needs to register for the IEOM Singapore conference and deliver an oral presentation

Global Design Competition 2022 Winners
On November 2, the first Student Chapter Global Design Competition was held as a virtual event. There were 14 teams from six countries registered for the competition. They included India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Sri Lanka. Each team developed a video of their conceptual design and submit it with their registration form. On the day of the event, each team presented a PowerPoint presentation of their final version of the design and its commercialization plan. Teams had to provide a business case for their design. Professor Don Reimer and Dr. George Pappas, Lawrence Technological University serve as judges for the competition.
Each student chapter team received a certificate that recognize their participation in the event. Four teams were recognized as presenting the most innovative designs with the best potential for commercialization. The following team were recognized

The Global Design Competition was managed by Ajaz Ahmed Khan, Student Chapter Support Coordinator. He was assisted by Professor Reimer and Dr. Ahad Ali. The event will be held every year. This innovative global competition provides an opportunity for members of IEOM Society student chapters around the world to share their innovative ideas and develop commercialization models.
The IEOM Society would like to thank all the participating teams. Your experience in this competition provided an opportunity to learn and grow your problem-solving and presentation skills. We look forward to your participation in the upcoming global design competitions as part of the continental conferences – Annual, North American, European, South American, Asia Pacific, Africa, GCC and Australian.
