IEOM Capstone Student Design Project Poster Competition

The IEOM Capstone Student Design Project Poster Competition will recognize outstanding design project in the field of industrial engineering and operations management prepared by student team. Capstone student design project team can showcase their engineering design project through a poster. It should highlight problem solving, creative thinking, innovation, project planning, and teamwork through a challenging design and build project. Selected posters will be considered for the competition and must be presented at the 2015 IEOM Conference in Dubai, UAE. The posters will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the 2015 IEOM conference award and dinner event on March 4, 2015 at Hyatt Regency Dubai.
Eligibility Criteria
- The submitter must be student or recent graduate and be part of the design project team.
- The poster must be prepared by the student(s) with only minor outside editorial assistance. One or more advisors may appear as co-authors of a poster, but the student must be the ‘first author’.
- The poster must be presented at the 2015 IEOM Conference at Hyatt Regency Dubai, March 3-5, 2015.
Important Dates
Deadline for submission of papers: September 30, 2014.
Finalists will be notified by November 30, 2014.
Poster Guidelines
IEOM poster format needs to be followed. The poster size is 36″ x 48′ (36 inches high by 48 inches wide).
Submission
Each poster must be submitted in electronic format (PDF file) to the capstone design poster competition committee chair, Dr. Shamsuzzaman (mshamsuzzaman@sharjah.ac.ae) no later than September 30, 2014.
Judging
A group of academics / professionals will serve as judge. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging.
Winners
1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive certificate.
