Chapter’s Objectives

Prof. Devinder Kumar Banwet, FIE, is Founding Vice-Chancellor at the University of Engineering & Management Kolkata India. He is an Emeritus Professor of DMS IIT Delhi in the area of Operations & Supply Chain Management and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India). He is a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, with a Master’s of Industrial Engineering and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi. He has made significant contributions in publications related to Operations Management. His areas of research interest include Operations Management, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Project Management, IT-enabled DSS, Industrial Systems Engineering, Total Quality Management, Manufacturing Strategy, Technology Management, Materials Management, Facilities Planning, Operations Research Modelling, Telecom Systems, and Entrepreneurship Management.

Dr. Meenakshi Gujral, a corporate trainer, consultant and subject matter expert to companies for business development, sales & marketing. An experienced and dynamic public speaker at both national & international platforms she holds 17 years of experience in research and academics, and currently works for IIM Ahmedabad.
She has conducted management development programmes and trainings in the area of business communication, personality development, and marketing & sales, technology, innovation & NPD and consumer behavior. She also participated in numerous national, international seminars and conferences.
Meenakshi holds a Masters Degree in Management from Delhi University, India and also holds a higher post-graduation from Michigan State University, Michigan, USA. She is a PhD in the area of marketing from University of Witwatersrand, South Africa

Ms. Meenakshi Gupta is a mompreneur, national ambassador, and researcher. She holds an MBA degree from Operations & Marketing Management; an alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Symbiosis Institute Pune, and Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (NIT) Allahabad. Currently, she is the founder-director of White Lily Training Services in India. As a certified national trainer with Junior Chamber International (JCI), she has been awarded by Dainik Bhaskar Powerful Women Excellence Award and engaged actively in conducting several academic programs in various parts of India and abroad. Her valued contribution includes providing training to employees of Tata Motors for a long time.

Dr Patanjal Kumar currently is a faculty at GLA University Mathura (Delhi NCR India), working in the area of Sustainable Supply Chain, Supply Chain Coordination, Innovative Supply Chain, Game Theory, Optimization, Behavioral Operations Management, and Policing Research. Dr Kumar has completed his doctoral degree in the area of Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, obtained a master degree in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. He has secured all India 4th, 14th, and 19th rank in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in the year 2010, 2013, and 2015 respectively. Dr Kumar is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering, and Management Sciences (IJMEMS), and has published in leading journals such as Business Strategy and the Environment, Applied Economics, American Business Review, Operations Management Research, Journal of Public Affairs, and so forth. He has also presented his research work in various leading conferences. He has also worked on defense, policing, and public policy projects and taught at IIM Rohtak and other leading business schools in India. Dr. Kumar is also recipient of many outstanding awards such as Outstanding Teaching Excellence in SCM Award (IEOM Society International), the best research paper award (AGBA Society), and the best performer award (Bhartiye Kalyan Samiti, Varanasi, UP, India). He has also received a silver medal in Textile Technology from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow (U.P.).

Moumita Saha, A Data Therapist, is a Postgraduate in Business Analyst and Business Intelligence from Great Lakes & McCombs School of Business, University of Texas. Moumita is delivering cutting-edge analytics products to enable data-driven business decisions using technologies such as SQL, R, Machine Learning, and statistical techniques. She has successfully managed business processes including OTIF, OTC, RTR sales billing, sales order, FDW, and source purchasing reporting capabilities using BOBJ Tableau. Having an engineering degree background, she keeps exploring data and conveys the information hidden in data to build sustainable data models & reports for Business cases. With her vast experience in the Sap Analytics domain with a demonstrated history of working on Supply Chain Modeling and aspires to build a sustainable future. She has received many awards for excellent technical support, leadership qualities, and client communications. She is an Agile and Design Thinking Practitioner.

Professor (Dr.) S.K. Breja is a Quality professional and Distinguished Professor for Strategic management, Operations Management and Supply chain Management, at The NorthCap University Gurugram. He is PhD from IIT Delhi in TQM and Business Excellence. Prior to joining The NorthCap University, he worked as a Professor of Operations Management, Logistics and supply chain management, global sourcing and business development, Consumer behavior and HOD-MDP and Consultancy at JIMS Kalkaji, New Delhi. Dr. Breja worked at NCB for more than 32 years. He has nearly 25 years of experience in consultancy, teaching and training a large number of industry professionals and PG diploma students in management systems, TQM and cement and concrete technology. He has 97 publications and conference presentations in National and International journals/ seminars/conferences to his credit. He has received training from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) on “Total Quality Control and Standardization Activities”, in Japan, where he visited several Deming Prize companies like Mitutoyo Corporation, Sharp Corporation and Denso Polymer, won three awards including a medal awarded by Professor Takahashi during training.
Prof (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Singh is working as Professor (Operations and Supply Chain Management) at Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, India. Prof Singh is figured among the top 2% of researchers in the Business Management area by a study conducted by Stanford scholars and others and handling editorship and guest editorship of a few reputed leading international journals such as International Journal of Consumers Studies (Wiley) (“A” Category journal by ABDC), International Journal of Global Business and Competitiveness (Springer), Sustainable Production and consumption (2021) on Strategies for Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chains in an Uncertain Business Environment, Operations Management Research Journal (Springer), Competitiveness Review (Emerald), Journal of Modelling in Management, and Journal of Global Operations and Strategic Sourcing (2020) on Application of Blockchain Technologies for Global Operations. Dr. Sachin Kumar Mangla is working in the field of Green and Sustainable Supply Chain and Operations; Industry 4.0; Circular Economy; Decision Making and Simulation. He has teaching experience of more than five years in Supply Chain and Operations Management and Decision Making and is currently associated in teaching with various universities in UK, Turkey, India, China, France, etc. He is committed to doing and promoting high-quality research. He has published/presented several papers in repute international/national journals (Journal of Business Research; International Journal of Production Economics; International Journal of Production Research; Computers and Operations Research; Production Planning and Control; Business Strategy and the Environment;; Annals of Operations Research; Transportation Research Part-D; Transportation Research Part-E; Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews; Resource Conservation and Recycling; Information System Frontier; Journal of Cleaner Production; Management Decision; Industrial Data and Management System) and conferences (POMS, SOMS, IIIE, CILT – LRN, MCDM, GLOGIFT). He is also involved in several research projects on various issues and applications of Circular economy, Industry 4.0 and Sustainability. Among them, he also contributed to the knowledge-based decision model in “Enhancing and implementing knowledge-based ICT solutions within high risk and uncertain conditions for agriculture production systems (RUC-APS)”, European Commission RISE scheme, €1.3M. Recently, he has also received a grant as a PI from British Council – Newton Fund Research Environment Links Turkey/UK – Circular and Industry 4.0 driven solutions for reducing food waste in supply chains.
Dr. Shivani Bali is working as Professor (Business Analytics & Operations) at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida, India. Dr. Bali has received her Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Operational Research, University of Delhi, India. She has nearly 18 years of experience in teaching, training, and consultancy in the field of Analytics and Operations. She has published more than 40 research articles in many reputed journals indexed in SCI/ WoS/Scopus and has authored two academic and three edited books. Her areas of interest are sustainability, circular economy, blockchain, software reliability, and supply chain optimization. She has worked on consulting assignments & imparted training programs in organizations like Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, India Mart, RITES, Indraprastha Gas Limited, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS, Delhi), National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR, Chandigarh), National Statistical Systems Training Academy (NSSTA), Ministry of Statistics and many more.
Dr. Rohit Joshi is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques area at IIM Shillong. He is a Fulbright fellow. He has done his Postdoctoral Research work at UCLA, the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. He has obtained his Ph.D from Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He has received a Master in Technology from Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, in Industrial Engineering and his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Gold Medallist and the University topper in his M.Tech and B.Tech respectively. His areas of interest in consulting and teaching assignments include Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Six Sigma and Lean Thinking, Business Statistics, Project Management, Value-engineering, Design Thinking and Creative Problem Solving.
Prof. Nikunj Kumar Jain is Associate Professor of Production and Operations Management at IIM Nagpur. He has completed his Fellow Program in Management (PhD) from IIM Indore and B. Tech. (Electrical Engineering) from MANIT, Bhopal. He has previously worked with IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi, and FORE School of Management Delhi. He has cross-functional work experience in a greenfield refinery project at Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd. Bina, Sagar (M.P.). He has conducted training programs on Operations Excellence, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Project Management, Data Analytics, Scientific Rigor, and Statistical Modelling to various industries for middle and senior management. He has also conducted workshops on Structural Equation Modelling and Research Methodology for academicians. He has published research papers in International Journals like Business Strategy and the Environment, Transport Policy, Research in Transportation Business and Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Studies, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Marketing, Intelligence and Planning, Asia-Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, Telematics and Informatics, Renewable and Sustainability Energy Reviews, Renewable Energy and Energy Strategy Reviews. Dr. Mahamaya Mohanty is a faculty of the Operations and Supply Chain Management area at the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. She has done her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. She is a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi and received her Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and earned Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Information Technology from College of Engineering Bhubaneswar (CEB). She has 10 years of teaching and research experience, worked as a faculty of Computer Science and IT in various institutes in India, prior to her full-time Ph.D. from the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. She has expertise in a variety of fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, operations research, logistics management system, and multi-criteria decision making. Her research has appeared in various reputed international journals like Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment, Journal of Modelling in Management, Management of Environmental Quality: An International Journal, and Journal of Management Analytics. She has been certified by Consultancy Development Centre (CDC), An Autonomous Institution of DSIR, Ministry of Science and Technology Govt. of India as a Technical Consultant.
Dr. Abhay Bhadani is an Operations Modeling Expert. He earned his Ph.D. in Telecom and Decision Sciences from the School of Telecommunications and Management, IIT Delhi, and M.Tech (ICT) from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of ICT, Gandhinagar. Dr. Bhadani heads the Data science division and works as Sr. Director at Yatra.com. He carries about 10 years of industry experience in varied sectors including research in building solutions using Data Science and Machine Learning in healthcare, telecom, aviation, hospitality, and a few other sectors. Dr. Bhadani has built and guided several cutting-edge products using NLP, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Software Engineering Design skills. Some of the successful projects in use are E-mail Bot, Personalized Interactive Voice Response System, Chatbots, Information Retrieval Engines, Recommendation Systems, Anomaly Detection, Customer Segmentation, Large Scale Optimization, and Dynamic Discounting along with a few other projects.
His research work has been presented in a few top conferences and journals around the Globe such as INFORMS, DSI, ACM Compute, SOM Conferences. In addition to these, he has published a couple of book chapters related to Big Data and NLP methods apart from a few journals and conference papers. He is passionate about AI for social good, AI Ethics, and AI in varied sectors.
Prof. Rini currently is a faculty of Operations and Decision Sciences at Jaipuria School of Business (Ghaziabad, India). Her expertise lies in the areas of Decision Sciences, Inventory Management and Supply Chain Management. Prof. Rini has submitted her doctoral thesis in Inventory Management from the University of Delhi. She holds a postgraduate degree in Operational Research and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Hons.) from the University of Delhi. She is also UGC-CSIR NET qualified and has approximately 7 years of teaching experience including her tenure with the University of Delhi and Galgotias University. Prof. Rini has multiple publications in prestigious international journals like ESWA, Rairo – Operations Research, Opsearch, and so forth. She has presented several research papers in international conferences. She is a lifetime member of the Association of Inventory Academicians and Practitioners (AIAP) and has organized international workshops and conferences as a Convenor. She is also a reviewer of prestigious journals like CAIE, Rairo – Operations Research etc. Her non-academic interests include working with NGOs for community service, traveling, adventure sports, curating playlist, sporadic writing and gaming.
Rohit Sindhwani is a PhD scholar in the Operations Management area at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow and an Assistant Professor in the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Dehradun, India. Earlier, he received his MBA from the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering from the IIT Kanpur, India. His research areas are the application of optimization and simulation in supply chain resilience and disruption, humanitarian and healthcare logistics, and hub location problems. He has published in reputable international journals like IEEE transactions on engineering management, International Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Asia Business Studies, among others.
Dr Rubee Singh is an Editor, Author & Social Activist. She is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource in Department of Business Management at Institute of Business Management, GLA University India. She has been awarded Honorary Doctorate in Human Rights & Peace from Royal American University USA for her outstanding contribution in social work. Recently awarded as Chartered Global Peace Building Professional (CGPP) by The George Washington University of Peace USA. She holds a Doctorate in HR from Noida International University India, an MBA in HR from Dr A.P. J Abdul Kalam Technical University India. Dr Singh is a Managing Editor of IJIEMR & IJARSH India. She is a United Nations Volunteer and also a contributing author for Voices of Youth (UNICEF). She is an honorary life member of Women Economic Forum. She is National Secretary of IATM (Youth Wing) International Anti-Terrorism Movement India. Dr Singh is National Record Holder by India Book of Records-2020 & Asia Book of Records Holder for 2021. She has published more than 35 research articles in many repute journal including Scopus, and ABDC category and also she is authored of 12 academic books and two edited books. Her areas of research are sustainability, Economics, Green Human Resource Management, Circular Economy, Corporate Social Responsibility, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Women empowerment.
Dr Shahbaz Khan is an Assistant Professor and Area-Co chair of Operation Management/ Business Analytics/Supply Chain at the Institute of business management, GLA University India. He has published more than 40 research articles in many repute journals including Scopus Q1, SCI, ABDC-A & B category. He has obtained his PhD and M. Tech degree with specialization in Industrial and Production Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia India, He is a gold medallist in M. Tech. He is life member of International Association of Engineers, Thailand. His research interests are Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Halal supply chain management, Circular Economy & Sustainability, Industry 4.0, performance measurement, process management and benchmarking, decision modeling for sustainable business He is the author of two academic textbook named as “International Human Resource Management” and “Strategic CSR in 21st Century”.
Rajendra Baraiya is a Ph.D. Fellow in the Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques department at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore, India. He has been awarded M.E. in Production Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, India, and B.E. in Production Engineering from Government Engineering College, Bhavnagar, India. He is an associate editor of the International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences (IJMEMS). His research interests are Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Coordination, Omni-Channel Retailing, Inventory Management, and Logistics. His research papers are published in reputed journals, and he has presented his research work at various National and International conferences.
He is also the recipient of many reputed awards such as the Outstanding Young Research Scholar Award (IEOM 2021 India Conference), Doctoral Dissertation Competition Award (IEOM 2021 India Conference), Special Prize Award (Doctoral Colloquium 2020, IRMA Anand), Best Paper Award (ICORDS 2019, IIM Visakhapatnam) and Best Paper Award in Operations Management track (Doctoral Conclave 2019, MNIT Jaipur). He is professionally affiliated with societies like IEOM Society International, POMS, and WCTRS.
Ms. Debashree Das is Senior Research Fellow in the area of Strategic Management and Public Policy at Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, India. She has qualified UGC-Junior Research Fellowship Grant by Government of India for the period 2016-2021. Ms. Das has a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, India. She has completed Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from University of Delhi. Ms. Das has published several research articles in leading journal and presented her research work at various National and International conferences. Her area of interest is Development Economics, Experimental Game Theory, Behavioral Economics, and Public Policy. Besides this Ms. Das has teaching experience of 2 years at various colleges under University of Delhi.
Sarthak Sengupta is a senior research scholar and teaching assistant in the Analytics area at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad. He is a computer engineer and MBA graduate as well. He has work experience in the industry and academia. His research and teaching interests include human resource management, higher education development, organizational behavior, management information systems, conflict management, data mining, machine learning, economics, marketing management, forecasting, social media analytics, digital marketing, and business analytics. He has published 26 research papers in leading journals, conferences, book chapters, a book along with 1 patent. He has worked in different parts of the world and this has helped him in becoming a highly adaptable individual. He likes working in challenging environments and this has helped him develop a dynamic personality with cross-cultural sensitivity. He had participated in JENESYS (Economics batch) which is a people-to-people exchange program promoted and funded by the Japanese Government to foster international cooperation and economic partnership. He is the recipient of the American Finance Association Travel Grant Award, Young Scientist Award, and 4 best paper awards. He has a Diploma in Cyber Law. He is a Certified System Security Analyst and the Chairperson of the IEEE Student Branch, IIIT-A. His international exposure includes Malaysia, Japan, China, Thailand, and the United States of America. He has been an effective guest speaker in numerous sessions.
Dhruv Chopra is a Human Resources professional with close to 10 years of corporate experience. His expertise lies in Performance Management, HR Operations, Grievance Management, Payroll framework establishment and recruitment. Have been an avid reader and writer on economic and geopolitical issues. Currently a Senior Research Scholar in HR Analytics area from Dayalbagh Educational Institute Agra and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

Dr. Prasanta Kumar Dey is a professor in Operations and Information Management at Aston Business School, Aston University, UK. Prior to joining Aston University in 2004, he worked for 4 and half years with the University of West Indies in Barbados as a Director of a graduate project management program and 13 years in Indian Oil Corporation Limited, India as a project executive. He has a bachelor in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, Master’s in Industrial engineering and management from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, and Doctoral degree in Production engineering from Jadavpur University. He specializes in low carbon supply chain management and project management. He has extensively published in the international refereed journals (e.g. IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, International Journal of Production and Operations Management, International Journal of Production Economics, European Journal of Operation Research, Supply Chain Management International Journal, Energy).
